Looking For What to do Next (Step 2)
My Giveaway Product
I’ve been thinking about what product to giveaway to start building an email list. While I want to create SAAS (Software As A Service) applications, I just cannot immediately come up with one. I wanted to get started and struggling for a product would likely continue my procrastination loop.
A couple of years ago, I was experimenting around with card game PWAs, progressive web apps. One of the games was a simple Solitaire app. The people that I shared it with claimed they played it all of the time. Maybe. But for sure, I played it a lot, still do.
I have noticed over time some improvements that I could make. If I was going to put something out there for people to use, and give me their email, I wanted it to be good.
I didn’t do any market research on which to base the decision. I just want to get started. You know — fail quick. So I have begun revising the application and am pretty close to finished. After I have the main app done, I will add instructions for the game and how to make it accessible off-line.
Next I am going to pick my email provider then work on my first content. I’m going to hold off selling anything until I have some traction with email.
