When I first dipped my toes into the tech world decades ago, chatbots were the stuff of sci-fi dreams. Now, they’re as normal as ordering a coffee through a mobile app.

Picture this: you’re a kid in a candy store, except the candy store is all digital and your friendly storekeeper is a chatbot. Crazy, right? But that’s the path we’re headed down.

Chatbots have come a long way since the clunky text-based MSN bots of old. Trust me, back then, getting a bot to understand “How’s the weather?” was like trying to teach a cat how to fetch-a noble endeavor but fraught with frustration.

Now, thanks to advancements in natural language processing and machine learning, bots are way smarter. They’re like the R2D2 to our Luke Skywalker, assisting us in countless tasks without us having to spell everything out.

But where does it end? Could these digital companions replace human interaction? I’ve been in the tech game long enough to know that replacing human touch with a series of ones and zeros is easier said than…
